I joined like a year ago and it was just an endless suffering trying to find communities that aren't dominated by braindead individuals and awful content and only now that I found 1 (one) good community (the Rimworld subreddit) along with a few like anime but non-meme stuff it's been getting better, but just about anything else is a big, mighty nope.
