Now I realize that I don't know the wealth level of many characters in fighting games and I'm curious about it: SF's Balrog for example is consistently shown as someone who fights for money, spends it all on gambling and women, then goes back to fighting when broke.

Since many of those games at least started as a tournament with implied money prize, not everybody is a blood knight or trying to exact revenge, so… many sequels later, who's the canonical winner, and what they did with the prize if it was still awarded?
