About
Piss Coordinates, also known as Toilet Peeing Grid, refers to two viral images of toilets with a Battleship-type ruled grid overlayed on them, used to humorously inquire where men aim their stream of urine while using the toilet. The viral spread of the post later inspired various edits and memes referencing them, most notably the G13 meme referencing an added square corresponding to a cat sitting in one of the pictures.
Origin
The earliest version of the meme, a Fuck Your Zodiac Sign meme that didn't feature a ruled grid, was shared by an unknown user in mid-2021 (shown below). On August 15th, 2021, iFunny [1] user darkjokezar made the earliest found surviving repost of the image.

On January 9th, 2022, Redditor KottuRoshi posted a photograph of a toilet with a ruled grid overlayed over it in the /r/KendrickLamar[2] subreddit, writing, "Which part of the toilet do you think Kendrick Lamar urinates on? 🤔" The post (shown below) gained over 680 upvotes in the subreddit in three years.

Spread
On January 22nd, 2022, Redditor Dollon_da_God reposted the image in the /r/dankmemes subreddit, captioning it, "Fuck your zodiac sign. Which zone do you pee in". The post (shown below) received over 32,000 upvotes in the /r/dankmemes[3] subreddit in three years.

The image was widely circulated online in the following days, inspiring jokes and memes. On January 23rd, 2022, Redditor oranke_dino posted a meme based on the image that received over 29,000 upvotes in the subreddit[4] in three years.
On February 18th, 2023, X[5] / Twitter page World of Engineering (@engineers_feed) posted another version of the image, a photograph of a toilet with a cat sitting next to it. The post (shown below) garnered over 43 million views, 26,000 reposts and 58,000 likes in two years.

Notably, the post inspired jokes about choosing G13 or G14, a square not present in the picture but roughly corresponding to the position of the cat if the grid was to be extended. For example, on February 19th, 2023, X[6] user @mensa_genius joked about choosing G14 in a quote post that received over 3,100 reposts and 26,000 likes prior to removal (shown below).

On January 17th, 2025, Redditor adamjonah shared a heatmap of the image generated using answers provided by Redditors in a recent thread[10] in which it was posted. The image, which showed that G13 was among the most popular choices, garnered over 64,000 upvotes in the /r/dataisbeautiful[7] subreddit in two months.

The post popularized[8][9] the use of the phrase G13 to express the occurrence of one accidentally urinating on their cat, or urinating onto some object in general.
