Sorry, Sir. No Pets Allowed or Excuse Me!? That's My Wife!!! is an exploitable redraw meme format based on a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic meme in which a waitress tells a person who is having dinner with Twilight Sparkle that pets are not allowed, the man yelling back, "Excuse me!? That's my wife!!!" The original meme was posted to DeviantArt in March 2022 and inspired numerous redraws and edits over the following years.

Origin

On March 15th, 2022, DeviantArt^[1] artist sardaukargt posted a piece of MLP fan art depicting Twilight Sparkle on a date with someone at a restaurant. The waitress says, "Sorry, sir. No pets allowed" and the person yells back, "Excuse me!? That's my wife!!!" The post gained over 160 favorites in two years (shown below). It was reposted to /r/mylittlepony^[2] on March 16th and to /r/shitposting^[3] on March 17th, garnering over 500 upvotes on the former and 5,900 upvotes on the latter in the same span of time.

Spread

The image became the subject of edits and redraws over the following years. On March 17th, 2022, u/Nikitajc1 posted a series of edits to /r/ComedyNecrophilia,^[4] garnering over 5,100 upvotes in two years (example shown below). That same day, u/bigleaguejews posted an edit to /r/okbuddyretard^[5] that gained over 650 upvotes in the same span of time.

On May 9th, u/Choice_Cut_6680 posted a version of the meme to /r/okbuddyretard^[6] that gained over 1,300 upvotes in two years (shown below, left). On July 21st, 2023, X^[7] user @stevetwisp posted a Derpy Hooves redraw of the meme that garnered over 1,300 likes in eight months (shown below, right).

On September 21st, u/TotaL0seR posted an edit of the meme to /r/losercity^[8] replacing Twilight Sparkle with Loona, garnering over 1,000 upvotes in six months. On March 13th, 2024, X^[9] user @PathfinderFacts posted a meme using the original version of the artwork that gained over 18,000 likes in under a day (shown below).
