EP It's more than just Tyson Hesse redesigning movie Sonic and making him look good. We're talking about the most storied animator who has ever worked for the Sonic franchise. He could've easily just COMPLETELY designed Sonic from scratch with his own style and made that work too, as he has done so before, but instead, he took the already existing design and said "OK, so how do we make this work?", and made it work he did, even though it would've been easier and safer to go with a new design, so as to not risk just "polishing a turd", to put it coarsely. Sure, he likely didn't take the decision alone, but he also likely took all the important decisions once he was hired for the job, and the fact that the guy saw the old design and STILL decided to respect it, despite everything, and work upon it instead of 100% throwing all the work from fellow animators before him is what truly stands out the most here.
