I only disagree with Hong Kong protest because it kind of ignores all the other people all across the world fighting against authoritarian regimes… we have
-Iran
-Lebanon
-Chile
-Iraq
-Bolivia (so how is that "totally not a coup" going after like 4 massacres by the new government, not backed by a majority of the population?)
-Columbia
-Armenia (was actually successful early in the year and the new government got a whopping 8% GDP boost in because of the increased confidence of investors)
-Venezuela
Many of them continue going on and had a LOT of fatalities with their governments massacring them (often into the hundreds)… fatalities of HK are… low… in comparison. It sometimes feels like focusing in HK is less to support HK, but more to attack the big boogeyman of Cold War 2.0: China. Which is precisely while the rest are ignored. You can't shit on China with them.
I absolutely support the HK protests, but I dislike the laser focus as if nothing else is going on right now.
If anything it should have gone to "pro democracy protestors" in general and include ALL of them.
