Later that month, TikToker @notcltnedits posted a video replacing the alien in the Locked in Alien meme with Ninja, set to the remix. Memes using the video and audio were popularized in January 2025.

On December 28th, 2024, TikToker^[1] @hepatitusba4 posted a video where he asks, "What is the biggest meme of 2024?" then sings "Low taper fade, the meme is massive," over the song "Scissorhands," which is most closely associated with the "Locked in Alien" meme, garnering over 800,000 views in six days. "Low taper fade the meme is massive" is a reference to a Vexbolts parody song that plays off of the specific "Low Taper Fade Meme Is Still Massive" meme.

The original sound for the "Locked in Ninja" edit, along with several copycat sounds, became notably popularized between the end of December 2024 and January 2025. On December 29th, 2024, TikToker^[2] @locked..inalien posted a slideshow consisting of a photoshop of the Locked in Alien with a low taper fade, garnering over 2.1 million views in five days.

On December 31st, 2024, TikToker^[3] @notcltnedits posted a video mashing up the Locked in Alien visuals with the "Imagine if Ninja Got a Low Taper Fade" format. The video replaces the alien with Ninja and uses the remix of "Scissorhands" by @hepatitusba4 as a backing track. The video gained over 5.1 million views in three days.

On January 2nd, 2025, TikToker^[4] @artsukown posted a video set to the remix in which they draw Ninja resembling the Locked in Alien, garnering over 8.6 million views in a day.
