I honestly like how physically different the characters are, in most of these types of show everybody has the same body type (looking at you Kyon)

Huh, would be interesting if this was one of the few times an anime was way bigger in the West than it was back home. One example I can recall is Big O, the show was so much more popular in the West that Cartoon Network actually helped fund another season just for Western audiences (apparently it flopped in Japan).
