Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! is a manga series written by Sumito Owara. The manga tells the tale of Midori Asakusa, a young girl who wants to create an anime. She teams up with the pragmatic Sayaka Kanamori and animator Tsubame Mizusaki to work towards making her dream come true. The series was adapted into an anime which premiered in January 2020.

History

Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! first ran in Monthly Big Comic Spirits starting July 27th, 2016.[1] As of January 23rd, 2020, there have been four volumes of the series published, with a fifth set to release on January 30th, 2020.

Anime

On May 7th, 2019, an anime adaptation was announced, to be directed by Masaaki Yuasa. The trailer was released that day (shown below, left). The series premiered on January 5th, 2020. The series opening theme song is called "Easy Breezy," by chelmico (shown below, right).

Online Presence

The series has been well-received, with Forbes[2] calling it "the best anime of the season." A subreddit for the series launched on May 8th, 2019, gaining over 600 members.[3] On YouTube, "Easy Breezy" has been parodied in numerous videos. For example, Tai Moya the 2nd posted a parody of the opening, gaining over 210,000 views (shown below, left). User Blue Eyes posted a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure parody which gained over 50,000 views (shown below, right).
