I think there are people that help you become the person that you end up being bojackscenes And you can be grateful for them even if they were never meant to be in your life forever. shruti_writes We humans have a certain obsession with closure. In life as well as art. Especially in movies and books, we strive for a happy ending. For the longest time, we have firmly believed in the saying "if it is not happy, it is not the end." So, we tell our stories in a manner in which all the roads lead to a happy ending. A kiss. A confession. An apology. A song. A letter. Something, just something to give the audience something to hold on to before the frame which says "The End". And if it's not happy, it has to be someone dying. A terminal disease. A tragic accident. A hopeless war. Something, something which says, only because life ended did the hope for happiness die too. Both make us believe that the deep rooted connections we form in life remain. Till the end. And because they do, so does the hope that things get better with the ones important to us in our lives. Things get better, and so do we. But, they fail to tell us that, both love and loss eventually pass in our lives. Sometimes, people who change us in numerous ways, are people that slip through life. People we stop texting, for no reason. Or people we pass on the subway daily, until one day they change their city. People who stop coming to your favourite bars because they have a lot on their minds. People who can't save you, and people you can't save. And just because your story with these people does not come to a picture perfect ending, does not imply it meant anything less. Or was 'incomplete' in a way. And I am glad Bojack ended the way it did. I am glad these two characters finally gave me something relatable on screen. That you are a sum of all the people you've met and lost. And that, stories have loose ends, and go on. Go on into silences, go on long after the camera zooms out. And we? We go on living.
