Deltarune Tomorrow is a catchphrase used, often ironically, to claim that the long-awaited next chapter of the video game Deltarune will come out tomorrow. In September 2021, Deltarune: Chapter 2 was released. In December 2024, the game's developer, Toby Fox, promised the release of the chapters in 2025. By February 2025, chapters three and four still had not been released, resulting in the phrase "Deltarune tomorrow" becoming a meme on sites including X / Twitter and Reddit to ironically claim the game is releasing "tomorrow." Deltarune: Chapters 1-4 was announced for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5th, 2025 that year, resulting in increased use of the meme in the days leading up to the release date. On June 3rd, Toby Fox tweeted, "Deltarune Tomorrow," fueling hope among the fanbase and bolstering memes.

Origin

The earliest known use of the phrase "Deltarune tomorrow" is unclear. The phrase was first popularized as an unironic phrase in relation to the September 17th, 2021 release of Deltarune: Chapter 2, with several examples of the phrase being used by X^[1] users on September 16th, 2021 existing.

Following the release of Deltarune: Chapter 2, the team behind the game started production on Deltarune: Chapters 2 and 3, with Toby Fox confirming in December 2024 that the games would be released in 2025.^[2] Prior to this, impatient Deltarune fans began using the phrase "Deltarune tomorrow," mostly ironically, to joke about the long-awaited game's release.

For example, on March 29th, 2024, X^[3] user @indi_go56 posted a crude graphic announcing the games, writing, "GUYS OH MY FUVKING GOD DELTARUNE TOMORROW (source: i work with toby)," garnering around two likes in a year. This is one of the earliest known uses of the phrase as a meme, although is unlikely the first.

Spread

Jokes using the phrase "Deltarune tomorrow" were popularized online in February 2025, with some joking that repeatedly saying the game would release tomorrow would make it release. On February 1st, 2025, X^[4] user @JMaster209 started posting variation of the phrase, "If you're a Deltarune X release date believer there's only X days left :)." On February 2nd, the X^[5] user posted a version of the digging for diamonds meme using the phrase that gained over 13,000 likes in two weeks.

On February 10th, X^[6] user @Funborgpl posted a meme that reads, "silksong fans watching people chant 'deltarune tomorrow,'" comparing the hope for a release date to that of the Silksong fanbase using a GIF from Across the Spider-Verse, garnering over 30,000 likes in a week.

On February 11th, u/Bloo_Snoc made a post to /r/Deltarune^[7] sharing a photoshopped screenshot of the Deltarune Steam page, writing "Deltarune tomorrow" and altering text to suggest a release date of "tomorrow," garnering over 1,400 upvotes in six days.

On February 12th, X^[8] user @CiblesGD posted a version of the hey nerd I kissed your girlfriend meme in which the jock calls the nerd "Toby Fox" and the nerd responds, "Deltarune tomorrow," garnering over 98,000 likes in five days.

On February 16th, X^[9] user @Name_is_Less posted fan art of Noelle from Deltarune hearing from Susie that Deltarune will release tomorrow, garnering over 6,000 likes in a day.

On June 3rd, 2025, Toby Fox tweeted^[10] in all-caps, "DELTARUNE TOMORROW," gaining over 10.8 million views and 281,000 likes (shown below). Fox also posted the announcement to Bluesky, ^[12] gaining over 34,000 likes in a day.

The tweet amassed viral fan art, evident in a post shared by X^[11] user @Rennitey on June 3rd, who drew the Wolf Ripping Shirt meme to represent joy, gaining over 54,000 likes in a day (shown below).
