Didn't chase aesthetics >Dad was always proud, asking me about my PRS >jokes about me being strong (he's 5'6 60kg, and I'm 5'10 90kg) >never went competition hard in the gym, no gear, not notably big totals >always felt kinda bad that people on the internet hit huge totals and I was nothing compared to them Fast forward to now >dad was diagnosed with brain cancer March 2019 >slowly getting worse, no cure works >now can't control basically any of his muscles, so is immobile >have to get him in and out of bed, wheelchair, around the house >due to lifting I have the strength to pick him up myself in and out of chair >basically a big hug while I grab onto a big fabric waist belt with handles >only muscles he can move is his left hand >when I sit him down he tries to grab my hand to say thank you Lesson is, don't be disheartened that you aren't hitting huge lifts. You might find that it's just as much as you need. Work hard, but take time to be with the people you love, and tell them you love them. We're all gonna make it in the end, even though it may be painful to get there.
