Humans are tribalists by nature. They're evolutionarily programmed to hate and distrust (or at least feel naught but sociopathic apathy toward) anyone who doesn't fit into the same tribe they do, much the same way the individual cells of a pluricellular organism will reject foreign cells for the sake of the organism's safety. It's the same principle on a superorganic scale where tribes and civilizations function like one massive lifeform.

Any bigoted rhetoric people come up with-- gays are predatory, blacks are thieves, whites are Nazis, Muslims are terrorists, Jews are greedy, Irish are drunkards, men are rapists, ect. --is all just post-hoc justification. Humans are simultaneously too stupid to discard their tribal instincts yet too smart to accept "because I just feel that way" as a valid answer, so they jump through an incredible mental gymnastic routine to validate their gut feelings as rational logic.

Asexuals don't need to be doing anything wrong, we just have to be different at all. But watching sexuals wrack their brain to try and come up with that post-hoc justification is at least pretty funny sometimes since, as the OP points out, it sounds even more absurd than usual.
