2020 George Floyd Protests - And this is why YOU will forever be just failures

Looting and burning business down do nothing to fight police brutality either. It just give excuse for the police to get even more brutal and switch public sympathy away from the protesters.

Peaceful protests only work for civil issues where the path to victory is public sympathy. In MLK's time, things like blacks getting equal rights was solely dependent on people's views of black people. Rioting would just feed people's racism.

However, peaceful protests does absolutely nothing against police states and authoritarianism. Nothing. Public opinion has no impact on whether or not an officer shoots something or a government runs over someone with a tank. By definition, authoritarianism doesn't care about public opinion.

The only way to fight against authoritarianism is to literally fight. When the British fired upon crowds, people rioted and eventually fought against the ones presiding over them. While the US may or may not be at that point, police brutality will NEVER be solved by peaceful protests. People have been trying for over 60 years. In fact, police have become even more militarized.
