Sad part is that the art is actually pretty good. The character looks cute, she 's more curvy than 'fat activist'-tier overweight. If you removed the context and just called it fanart, people would like it.

But that "I fixed it, this is what your problematic character should look like" attitude is so incredibly sanctimonious and off-putting that it colours the impression of the drawing.
