They are double checking them, but not because of suspected fraud – only because of the president's allegations, which are thus far spurious.
Your analogy is off the mark, because there are no substantiated indications of fraud. Nothing fits the MO of fraud, other than the red mirage causing the tallies to shift in unorthodox ways. They may indeed find evidence of fraud, or even fraud itself, but nothing that's happened so far would point to that. Double-checking isn't a sign of fraud, especially when they say they aren't finding much at all.
So when a broad coalition of election officials say that this was the most secure election in history, that would be a good reason to not be suspicious, right?
