These self-portraits are made by the American artist William Utermohlen (1933-2007) and they show how Alzheimer's Disease (or Dementia in general) can negatively affect your mind and mess with your motor skills at the time they were made since his diagnosis in 1995. In his 2000 self-portrait, you can see William with a dejected expression, knowing not only he can barely recognize his own face but also fully aware that he's going to die due to the complications of Alzheimer's. Truly heart-breaking.
