Swole Doge vs. Cheems - Christian Cinema Then Vs. Now

Now that they aren't top dog in the public eye anymore, it's all about that persecution complex.

Most modern Christian movies are bad for the same reason many animated movies are bad nowadays.

They only appeal to their target demographic and are either too dumb or even belittle people outside of it.

I'm a fairly conservative Christian and I watched God's Not Dead 1 and 2 with some of the kids at church back when I was in High School. Even I thought the plot was absurdly dumb, especially with the 500 unncessary subplots they throw in. The main character of the first one was obnoxious and, ironically, the antagonist was more sympathetic once they revealed his backstory. But, of course, they had to kill him off in the end right before he could convert just to piss off the Baptists.

Funny enough, it was the opposite with the second one, where the main heroine was sympathetic because she was getting involved in a legal battle for just briefly mentioning the Bible in a class, which was friggin' stupid and would never happen in real life. Not to mention, the antagonist of the sequel was a major step down, just being some mustache twirling baddie.
