So when I first visited the SCP foundation, it was when they barely had more than a 1000 entries and I loved it, because of the unique writing style, how every entry felt original and well thought out and that they kept the serious and silly stuff deliberately separated.

I visited it recently and it's all gone to s---.

The Joke Folder has been ditched and those entries have either been merged with the others or scrapped. So now there's no separation between the silly, antics-filled stories and the serious, scientific reports.

All of the original standalone entries have been re-written to take away the mystery of it all. They've removed some of them altogether, such as the original 0001 which was a room that turned people into furniture when you closed the door.

Most of the stuff pass the 2000 mark is literally folklore with a palette swap or "2Spoopy4U" Creepypasta. And considering they're reaching 10'000, that's an awful lot of s--- to sift through to find a few diamonds.

Now this is all fine, but for a heavily moderated site that used to have a very high bar for entry in terms of quality, I just expected so much better from it.

Perhaps my expectations were just too high and it's always been like that and all of the s----- bits were just lost to the fog of time.
