Had the vaccine just been given out normally, I don't think there would be as much of a hassle.

Instead, the politicians look extremely desperate for you to take it and openly want to penalize you if you refuse it in extremely draconian ways. They're promoting it in a way that makes taking the vaccine feel like more and more of a bad idea.

For example, my grandmother saw an ad on TV that offered the vaccine, and told elderly people would get a coupon for a paid seaside vacation for free. If you need to bribe people to take the vaccine, that vaccine smells fishier than a seafood market.
