Well I googled the top 10 most dangerous countries in the world and used it like a shopping list. Went Ukraine during the war and went Chernobyl. Was going to go North Korea after a wealth management internship in Shanghai but covid happened so that became remote. Visas for some other countries are too expensive, therefore I settled on Afghanistan. Started googling and found out it's actually quite beautiful, foods great and It's obviously dirt cheap. The feeling is surreal, it baffles me how people live normal life here daily, there is a constant acid sick smell on the streets I couldn't live with, the roads are chaos and it's just pure noise constantly. When my driver picked me up from the airport a bunch of 4-8 year old girls ran up to my car and standing banging on the window begging for money and ran alongside a car on a busy highway. The main thing that saddens me is the fact there are loads of stray dogs that are hungry and you can see their ribs, they're everywhere and basically biting at rocks for food. The people don't really see them as pets, I hope to fly back one day to adopt a dog potentially. ATM's are a thing but they're in their own special private rooms, I tried to withdraw 400 USD but the machine didn't have enough so I just took 200, this was outside the central bank as well. Every 100m or so when driving there are 3 shops in the middle of the road: drinks (water, coke etc), food and general stuff like pans, clothes etc. It's like a drive thru but all the time. I've got a 32 inch phat Tv, l've got AC which works surprisingly well. Double bed and the mattress is rock hard but apparently that's the custom here, I kinda like it. I've got a private bathroom and I get breakfast in the morning if I want at no charge. They also offer takeaways (checked Uber eats for s---- and giggles and nothing) so I got some last night, very good and cheap
