"Belling the Cat" "Belling the Cat" is a fable about a council of mice who want to nullify the threat of a cat, and they agree to put a bell around its neck so they always hear it coming. They cheer at this plan, but none are willing to go and approach the cat and do the deed, so it never gets done. Catelyn Stark, known as Cat, slits the throat of Jinglebell before her own throat is cut. "his little bells were ringing, ringing, ringing..." Walder Frey bells the Cat by coming up with the plan to nullify the threat of Robb Stark via the Red Wedding. He was willing to sacrifice Jinglebell to get the deed done, and so the Cat rings the bell as their neck is crossed.
