And the damn carbs. So many carbs.

It was based not on health or science, but on the needs of the American food and agriculture industries in order to maximize profits, even at the expense of consumer health. Of course the obesity epidemic followed. This shit was taught in schools and recommended be doctors. This was in my textbooks and my pediatrician's office.
