In DK 64, it is possible to cause Chunky Kong to be unlocked as a playable character while also remaining in the overworld as an NPC, resulting in two Chunkys. If the NPC Chunky is approached by playable Chunky, he will do nothing but keep looking at him.

NPC Chunky Player Chunky Player Chunky NPC Chunky In Frantic Factory in Donkey Kong 64, Chunky Kong has to be rescued from a cage by Lanky Kong pressing a button. If no Bananaport has been activated yet on that save file, and the player makes Lanky Kong fall down on one immediately after pressing the button, the Bananaport explanation animation will interfere with Chunky Kong's rescue animation. This will result in Chunky Kong being unlocked as a playable character, while the NPC Chunky (previously stuck in the cage) will be left standing in the room. When played on a SNES, Donkey Kong Country 3 has an extremely small chance to accidentally misidentify itself as an illegitimate copy, bringing up this screen on startup. This is due to the console's RAM being randomized upon startup. Details in image.

An irregularity has been detected. Please turn the Power off, wait for 10 seconds, and then turn the POwer on again. Upon startup, Donkey Kong Country 3 runs integrity tests on the console to determine if the copy is legitimate or unauthorized. However, on real SNES hardware (as opposed to versions like the Wii Virtual Console, where this error does not occur), the console's RAM will be randomized upon startup, giving the game a small chance to bring up a false positive on its integrity tests, accidentally misindefying itself as an unauthorized copy. This will bring up this screen, which may startle or confuse a user playing a legitimate copy. Luckily, the instructions, when followed, result in the RAM being re-randomized, so that the error is likely not to occur again. EXIT LEVEL An extremely obscure "help" function exists in Donkey There are three ways to get the message to appear, Kong 64 that exits a level alongside a message by Squawks telling the player to "try somewhere else" if the player spends too much time in an area without progressing. However, the requirements to see the message are so absurd it is likely that no players have ever encountered it during regular play. every single one of which is immensely unlikely to Occur. The first one is to pause and unpause the game 1501 times without leaving an area. The second one is to use a Monkeyport pad as Tiny Kong 1501 times, also without leaving the area. Note that during regular gameplay, the usual amount of times one of those pads would be used before moving to another area is 1 or 2. Finally, the hint will activate if the player crouches for 4 hours straight, or alternatively, runs around inside an area without interacting with any objects or leaving the area for 4 hours straight. Note that merely standing still does not count, preventing the hint from activating if the game is left idle for an extended time.
