A Sanna Marin December 6, 2021. : We have spent some free time with my husband in Helsinki on the Independence Day weekend. Our daughter has been treated by her grandparents in Tampere. We've been out eating, shopping in town, seeing friends and spending time in the evening and nightlife too. We've been asked for a corona passport in restaurants and everyone in our company has had one. On Saturday evening my secretary called me on the parliament's work phone and told me about the corona infection of minister Pekka Haavisto. At the same time, he said that there won't be any special measures and ministers won't be quarantined because everyone has two vaccines and full vaccine protection. I did not question the information I received because THL has issued similar instructions to the citizens. If you have received two vaccines, in principle, those who have been exposed are not assigned to test or quarantine. So I have understood on Saturday that the work of members of the government will continue as normal unless the health official says otherwise. However, the government work phone has received a different information via text messages, where it has been advised to avoid contacts and take a test. I have received this information on Sunday and immediately applied for a test and the result was negative. I didn't have a government phone with me on Saturday night, but a parliamentary work phone, which I mainly use to handle work tasks. You can always reach me by phone and you did this time as well. I should have used better judgment Saturday night and double check the instructions I received. I'm really sorry that I didn't understand to act like this.
