How the hell is funding a proxy war that is rapidly deteriorating Russia's position as a world power without even having to risk its own citizens (because the alternative is basically escalating things into WWIII) not a grade-A win for the USA? The US even gets to flaunt its military might by showing just how hard Ukraine is kicking Russia's ass with the stuff that they weren't even trained to use until after the war started, not to mention how much the intelligence they've acquired and shared has tipped the scales.
