Bit of a fun fact about Rango: while the movie did NOT use motion capture for the animation, the actors voicing the characters were still filmed performing their lines in front of a greenscreen in order to help the animators capture the "feeling" the actors were going for.

It's certainly an inventive movie, and it's good for an initial watch just to see it all in action.
It's not a must-see for the plot, because it goes pretty much where you think it goes with not too many twists and turns. But yeah, good movie, not in my top 10 or even 50, but good movie.
