I would like to share with you the results of my math My work has been uploaded to imgur, posted to reddit, and then reached the front page 200 times. It's probably more like 500, but I can't prove that without extensive research Typically a front page image gets 100,000 views. I've had a few recently get nearly 2 million views, but again, I'm going to use conservative estimates 100,000 pageviews on my website typically generates about $100 in ad revenue. I'mm going to assume that is pretty standard for most sites with advertisements If you add all of that up, I have generated roughly $20,000 in ad revenue for imgur Now I understand bandwith is expensive, so I'm willing to cut you in on half Meaning you folks owe me about $10,000. I have paypal, but I'd rather receive it as one of those giant novelty checks OR... maybe you would consider adding an attribution system to your service that lets artists, photographers and content creators properly credit their work. You might might willingly upload their work and share it with the imgur and reddit communities Let me know what you decide.
