We would hang out all the time, and every time we saw each other at school, wed talk about video games a lot. We both had our specialties; I was a Puzzle/Adventure-kid, Legend Of Zelda games wept in terror as I played, I was just too smart. My friend was the trigger happy Shooter guy. It was like he had a mechanical sharpshooting eye that replaced his REAL eye. I dont care if that sounds nerdy, I always thought it was true. Half-Life came out, and when we were tipped off that it was a Puzzle-Shooter genre, we vowed to help each other finish the game. We did, and we had such a blast, we promised we would try to find a game like this every year Time passed, we found one every year or so. We turned 20, and he left to join the army. He would write to me. Then it was the year that Half Life 2 came out. I wrote back, saying that we were going to play it when he got back A month passed, he didnt write back yet. I waited more, 2 more months, until I got a letter. Then, my mother told me that my best friend's mother was visited by people of the Army. I couldnt believe it, and decided to phone her directly about what happened. She told me he died. I looked at my copy of Half-Life 2, unopened, waiting for my friend. I said what I thought was appropriate; "I am sorry for your loss... He was my best friend, and I don't think anyone can replace him.. She simply sobbed at the other end, and I slowly hung up. I turned to the dusty Half-life 2 box, opened it up, stuck it in our Xbox, and I beat it. Alone, and when I did, I put it above my TV, right next to the photo of me and him together, 6 years ago with Half-Life.
