That's the original Link art from Zelda 1. Also Link up till OoT wore a brown long sleeved shirt under the tunic, but was accompanied by blonde hair.

Lastly Nintendo has completely disowned the Phillips CD-i and it's games.

While I don't think it's a CD-I Zelda reference, pretty sure it's not the original Zelda 1 link.
