The meme started when Doug Walker (The Guy with the Glasses, who is also responisible for The Nostalgia Critic , posted short parodies of movies which were only a few seconds long on his website. It spread quickly throughout the internet, especially on YouTube. Usually they are not edited but made in a humorous fashion with the scenes from the movie
