¡Ayúdame! is a big spanish youtube meme.

About

16 of february of 2009: Two american girls decide to upload a video on youtube and show to the world how well they speak spanish.

“¡Ayúdame!” (Help Me!) right now has 1,445,420 views, the majority of the views coming from spanish speaking countries, the reason is that the way of speaking spanish of this two girls, is very funny for spanish speakers.

The reason why they made this video it’s still unknown. Maybe a school homework, becouse the is very strange that two american girls made a song in spanish.

Original Video

Lyrics

Hello?
Hello! Help me!
Why?
My mom gave me a lot of chores..
I’ll help you!

Help me, I have a lot of chores.
Help me because my house is dirty.
Help me, I have a lot of chores.
Help me because my house is dirty.

Where is the list?
It’s here.
Where is the list?
It’s very long.
I don’t want to clean, but I should.
There’s no problem because I’m here!

Help me, I have a lot of chores.
Help me because my house is dirty.
Help me, I have a lot of chores.
Help me because my house is dirty.

Arrange my room.
Make the bed.
Cut the lawn.
Clean the bathroom.
Feed the dog.
Wash the dishes.
Vacuum.
Set the table.
Dust.

Help me, I have a lot of chores.
Help me because my house is dirty.
Help me, I have a lot of chores.
Help me because my house is dirty.

Clean.

Spread

What these two girls didn’t predict is that the video would be seen by many native spanish speakers that will find hilarious the way they pronuonce common words.

What makes this video so funny?

Words like “Quehaceres”(Chores) the girls pronounce like “Quereseres”;
When they pronuonce “Ayúdame”(Help me) it sounds like “Ayurame”;
When the girl ask “¿Dónde está la lista, la lista?” (Where’s the list, the list?) and the she answers with a creepy voice “Está aquí” (It’s here);
When she says “Feed the dog” (and the girl is feeding some doll);
When she says “Cut the lawn” (and she’s cutting the carpet of his house)
“No quiero limpiar, pero yo debo (I don’t want to clean, but I should) it’s gramatically wrong (it should be “No quiero limpiar, pero debería hacerlo”).
All this and some other details made the video even funnier and adding all this to the way they pronounce all the words mixed with their native accent made the video very popular to the whole youtube spanish community and the media.
