According to Urban Dictionary and ED, FYIAD originated from an otherkin argument on livejournal.com. LiveJournal user StarBlade posted an entry in the debate section regarding Otherkin, a spiritual belief in which one thinks that he is a certain animal and he is trapped inside a human body. There is no limit when it comes to the animal they believe they are, and it can even include animals that physically don’t exist. “Otherkin” refers exclusively to people who believe they are mythical creatures. Someone who believes they are a real life animal is known as a “therian”. “Fuck you, I’m a Dragon” became the defensive cry of many of the Dragon otherkin in the debate. Now, the meme can be used in any situation; however, it’s typically still used in it’s traditional form. This meme is not to be confused with the “F*ck you! I’m an Anteater!” meme that originated from LOLcats.
