Flash Slothmore Reaction refers to a reaction GIF based on a short clip of the character Flash Slothmore slowly laughing at a joke in Disney's 2016 animated children's film Zootopia.

Origin

On November 23rd, 2015, the trailer for the film Zootopia was released, including a scene in which the protagonists Judy Hoops and Nicholas P. Wilde tell a joke to Slothmore at the DMV, leading him to laugh very slowly (shown below).



Spread

On November 24th, 2015, Imgur[1] user Quass uploaded a short clip of Slothmore's smiling scene.


Sloth Laugh – Zootopia

On January 5th, 2016, Imgur[2] user Emiltid uploaded another GIF of Slothmore slowing laughing. On January 8th, a page for Slothmore was created on the Zootopia Wiki. On March 3rd, the women's interest site Bustle[3] published an article about the Zootopia scene. On March 6th, Tumblr[6] user ElegantKittenWarrior posted the GIF along with caption "Being the last to get the joke." Within seven months, the post garnered uwpards of 880 notes.

On March 10th, YouTuber iMovies uploaded the entire DMV scene, gathering more than 2.2 million views and 600 comments over the next seven months (shown below).
