The Nick and Judy Selfie Trend or Zootopia Selfie Trend is a TikTok trend in which users recreate the poses from an ad for Zootopia where the protagonists Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps take selfies together. The trend, often set to "Photograph" by Ed Sheeran, became popularized on TikTok in December 2022 and continued to go viral throughout early 2023.

Origin

One of the advertisements for the 2016 animated film Zootopia features the protagonists Nick (a fox) and Judy (a rabbit) taking selfies together (shown below).



On December 11th, 2022, TikToker[1] @wawalim_ posted a video in which the advertisement plays on the top half while two women recreate the ad on the bottom half, garnering over 3.9 million views in two months (shown below).

Spread

The trend spread across TikTok over the following weeks. On December 24th, 2022, TikToker[2] @brookemonk_ posted a version of the trend, garnering over 63 million views in just over a month (shown below, left). On December 27th, TikToker[3] @lilhuhofficial posted a version of the trend that garnered over 27 million views in a similar span of time (shown below, right).

On January 12th, 2023, TikToker[4] @aaronmercury posted a video following the trend, garnering over 16 million views in a month (shown below). On January 27th, Twitter[5] user @heyyitsjanea reposted @lilhuhofficial's video doing the trend, writing, "okay so i found the cutest tiktok trend," garnering over 13,200 likes in two weeks.
