How it Should Have Ended is a YouTube channel featuring a series of animated sketches that poke fun at various plot holes, deus ex machina and other inconsistencies found in popular films by presenting an alternate ending to the storyline.

Online History

The YouTube channel How it Should Have Ended[1] launched on March 5th, 2007. They posted their first video on March 6th, titled "How Star Wars Episode IV Should Have Ended." As of August 2014, the video has gained over 9.3 million views.



As of August 2014, the channel's two most popular videos are "How Lord of the Rings Should Have Ended," which was uploaded on March 9th, 2007, and has gained over 23.4 million views, and "How Spider Man 3 Should Have Ended" which was uploaded on September 9th, 2007 and has gained over 19.4 million views.



The channel also uploads behind the scenes videos to show how they create their classic animated videos.



On May 29th, 2014, the channel posted the first video in a new animated series poking fun at famous sci-fi pop culture moments. The video titled "ABCDEFGeek "A" Is For Ackbar," which has gained over 700,000 views within three months. On July 24th, 2014, they uploaded the second episode titled "ABCDEFGeek "J" Is For "Josh." Within a month the video gained over 290,000 views.
