About

In the music video it shows a group of average looking guys trying to get girls' attention by showing off their (unathletic) bodies. At some point they all take their trousers (pants for U.S) off and start having a "wiggle off" with other male "contestants". During those scenes, the phrase "I'm Sexy and I know it" is repeated several times. The catchphrase "I'm Sexy and I Know it" is a way of expressing one's self-confidence despite/inspite our looks.

Origin

"Sexy and I Know It" is a song by American electro-hop duo LMFAO from their second studio album, Sorry for Party Rocking. It was released as the third single from the album on September 16, 2011. The song was written by Stefan Kendal Gordy, GoonRock, Erin Beck, G.M. Robertson and Kenneth Oliver, and it was produced by Party Rock. The song became the group's second number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, making them the first duo to have two successive number-one singles since OutKast's "Hey Ya!" (2003) and "The Way You Move" (2004). The song also reached number one in Australia, Canada and New Zealand, and charted within the top 10 in nearly every country in which it charted.

Although, it's worldwide popularity as a LMFAO song is acknowledged, as a meme it hasn't quite reached that peak yet. However, having displayed in this meme entry, this specific catchphrase hasn't totally been ignored as a potential one. It's catchy and it offers many possibilites to rocket up next to the POPULAR memes in our generation. I don't particularly like the song, but I can definitely see it becoming very popular amongst other memes.
