Kerbal Space Program is a video game developed by Squad. In the game, the player creates rockets and spaceplanes and launches them into space. The game is currently in Alpha state and is undergoing development.

The basic concept of the game involves players building rockets and spaceplanes and launching them into space from Kerbin, a planet similar to earth. Small, humanoid creatures called Kerbals ride in the spacecraft if they are manned.

Origin

Jedidiah Kerman is one of the aforementioned kerbals. During early versions, he was one of only three crew members to ride in the players creations. In later versions, other Kerbals could be recruited to your space program, but he and the other members of the "Original three", Bill and Bob Kerman, were probably going to be the first Kerbals launched, due to there presence at the top of the list of kerbals. Even more so, Jeb was at the very top, so he was almost always the first.

Spread

Over time, Jeb earned a reputation of badassery, due to the fact that in almost any situation, he would react with glee, even while the other members of the crew were screaming in terror, often to humorous affect to the player. Over time, he became the De-facto mascot of the game, due to his aforementioned behavior. He has appeared in many fan arts and videos, both official and player-made.
