John Petrucci is the Lead Guitarist and background singer of Progressive Metal band Dream Theater, known as the forerunners of the Prog-metal genre for their collective technical skill. A youtuber named adam02 in 2006 made a short, 1 minute video from an exercise video by John, where he demonstrates how to strech his arm. When he does, he feels a crack in his arm and says, "… yours might also". Adam then slowed down the footage and dubbed over the video to make him say, "We're going to start by teaching you how to snap your arm in 5 places. crack Oh, my arm just snapped! And I'm going to kill you." Afterwards, he followed up with a video series of John making several outrageous claims about his ability. Among the claims made include:
- That eating only potatoes and small mammals alive is really good for your hands
- That you suck
- That he spends 63 hours a day practicing through the use of timewarping made possible by playing 400 notes per second, but he has ceased doing so due to the implosion of Earth that comes as an afteraffect
- That all his guitars were custom made by Ibanez- MR. Ibanez- and were hand painted by Michelangelo (not that guitar n00b, like the guy that painted Jesus on the cieling)
- That you suck a lot
- That Ghandi made speakers
- That if he activates his guitar's center coils, he goes into Killzone Mode, where whenever he shreds he kills people
- That his rack was made by Mr. Rackman
- That, seriously, you suck, so just sell your guitar on eBay or something.

Recently, Adam closed his account, but beforehand the videos had over 1 million views each. However, recently his account was supposedly reopened with all four videos on it. They currently have over 11 thousand views collectively. Although not a universally known internet meme, John Petrucci Psycho Exercises have become a beloved series followed by Dream Theater fans and others, and has led Petrucci to be regarded as one similar to a guitar-playing Chuck Norris.
