About
The Milk Face is a rage face used to express a great amount of interest, usually of lust or shock. The name "milk face" comes from the earliest uses of this rage face, which were milk-related.
Origin
This rage face came from Reddit. On April 13, 2010, Reddit user MysteryStain submitted the rage comic "It's Cereal Time [1]."
While noted to be similar to other rage comics, the comic's success came from the face in the second panel. As a result, the milk face started to appear in a few more "motherfucking milk" comics.
Spread
As several rage comics were made with this face on Reddit, this face found its way onto other websites with rage comics like Tumblr and Funnyjunk [2]. It is also included in the few rage comic makers and rage face galleries out there. Over time, the face lost its original purpose fairly quickly, and became used for a strong interest in something or shock. The face is usually coupled with a wild x appears. This phrase came from the Pokémon series. The original catchphrase "motherfucking milk on that shit" still has some popularity on Reddit as a snowclone term, usually referring to how something becomes better.
