The Napoleon Dynamite Dance Scene is a popular scene from the movie "Napoleon Dynamite" which has been parodied several times over and has several gif images.
Origin
In "Napoleon Dynamite", the title character helps his friend, Pedro, in his campaign for class president. When it is discovered that presidential candidates must have some sort of entertainment for the debates, Napoleon steps in and does his now-famous dance.
Because of the popularity of the movie, the scene spread quickly. Several parodies and reenactments were made and posted on youtube, while parts of the dance itself became popular use as avatars.
Derivatives
Other than the reenactments, it has been common for people to switch out the song used in the scene, "Canned Heat", with another song, similar to that of Little Hotshot.
