Looking back on US History, the federal government had a hard time getting Rhode Island to ratify the Constitution. If took the state of stubborn individuals a whole three years to sign it and put it into use. These state characteristics show how Rhode Islanders didn’t want to be mainstream and join the Union.
Even today, many people take part in the hipster life style due to the fact that the sate is comprised of multiple islands where individuals are cordoned off from the rest of society.
Rhode Island will always be that sate that will fight the general consensus of the USA. That’s just because ratifying a constitution and joining the union is just too mainstream!
