Tentacle rape, also known as shokushu goukan (触手強姦), is a theme often shown in Japanese erotica including novels and animation. It is often involved with a creature with tentacles using their said body part to rape any character in the type of media. The earliest instance of tentacle rape was one of Katsushika Hokusai’s illustrations in his novel “Kinoe no komatsu”. One other of Hokusai’s works “The Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife” has also been a prime example of early illustrations of Tentacle Rape.
In America, tentacles touching others is not seen as erotic, yet people have made jokes that even the simplest of examples have been seen as erotic.
