Z-KAI (Japanese: Z会, Zetto Kai, it doesn't mean Dragon Ball Z Kai) is a Japanese company running cram schools and correspondence courses for students, which is famous for sometimes making unique TV commercial movies (TVCMs) which don't seem like an education company's advert since before.^[1]

In the end of 2011, one of their TVCMs became viral on the web and was set to a subject for MAD videos on Nico Nico Douga (NND) because of its ridiculous rendition.

Origin

The TVCM began to be aired in December 2011, which was for university hopefuls. In the TVCM, a highschool student boy is standing on a bank of a river, and screaming the passion to the campus life, with a lot of soul. But, the narrator says strictly: "You can't pass entrance exams only by motivation."

Internet users in all region always love hilarious screaming and epic maneuvers, and Japanese people are no exception. Like previous scream memes such as Matsuda, You Idiot! and Insane Set, This Z-KAI's TVCM that was reuploaded to YouTube and NND soon became viral among Japanese internet users. They began creating MAD videos featuring it with various music sources. 300 more MAD videos related to this TVCM had been uploaded to NND in its first 2 months.^[2]
