Most floridans have developed an immunity to Alligators by this point. It's a clever trick of their unique biology. When they see an alligator 9/10 floridans will avoid it, thus saving their lives and preserving their chance to reproduce.

Unfortunately not everyone has evolved the same sense of awareness as Native Floridans, like tourists, but they are considering a new campaign to give those unevolved a fighting chance by increasing their "awareness" levels.
