My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - Well, have you?

Griffons being mostly eagles, they will need to add animal products in their diet in order to survive. But coexisting mostly with vegetarian sentient species, they would be outright rejected if they regularly ate meat. It'd be unexpected from such creatures if they feasted on dairy products, and being birds themselves, it's unlikely that they'll eat eggs either.
What I'm getting at is: all those animal proteins gotta come from somewhere.
