Thing is, the audience score is no more reliable than the critic score, perhaps even less so, because it inevitably ends up being brigaded whenever there's a controversy about a specific movie. Of course a documentary about Dr. Anthony Fauci is going to be brigaded by COVID-deniers and antivaxxers, while Chappelle's latest comedy special is going to be be brigaded by cultural conservatives to demonstrate support for the comedian's "anti-woke" special. I can certainly tell just by looking at online conversations about the film that a significant number of people who watched it found it unfunny, it most certainly does not have universal acclaim among audiences, but that's not how Rotten Tomatoes works.
