#GamerGate explained in five minutes or your money back #GamerGate is a call for transparency and ethics reform in game industry media. What kind of ethics abuses occurred? The Fine Young Capitalists (TFYC) launched a web fundraiser to help women break into the gaming industry. A game developer (dev) used their influence to get it shut down THE FINE YOUNG Days later, the same dev created their own ther der he pead promote thle new aimp frgondut CAPITALISTS the dev helped promote this new campaign, but no media talked about what happened to TFYC http://apgnation.com/archives/2014/09/09/6977/truth-gaming-interview-fine-young-capitalists http://bit.ly/ZgnCEt Several judges at video game award panels IndieCade and Independent Games Festival (IGF) were shown to have conflicts-of-interest with the winners Two judges were sexual partners of an IndieCade winner. Seven judges were investors in an IGF winner (and stood to profit from the press/sales generated by winning). http://gamesnosh.com/fez-investors-outed-judges-2011-igf-award http://bit.ly/1uBZPJN Gamers turned to online forums to discuss these and similar revelations. Mass-deletion of topics and comments related to certain VIP personalities was seen on major gaming sites and even larger community forums such as reddit, 4chan, and NeoGAF [deleted 1-1 [deleted:3 minutes ago [deleted) I- fdeleted] 8 minubes [deleted] 【-】 [deleted] 1 hour ago deleted 1-1: deleted. hour ago Gamers - angry at being silenced - investigated further and demanded answers. http://knowyourmeme.com/photos/813699-quinnspiracy http://bit.ly/1AMq80Z Gaming sites replied with articles declaring the death of gamers, calling them misogynists... since some of the people under scrutiny for ethics abuses happened to be female Gamers' are over. These fourteen "anti-gamer" articles appeared on 28 Aug 2014 and shared similar talking- points: a coordinated effort to divert attention away from ethics abuses to false misogyny http://pastebin.com/dWzF8Eqd The community of gamers rallied under the Twitter hashtag #GamerGate to spread news, anti-gamer site boycott lists, more evidence of ethics breaches, and victories won. #GamerGate was accused of being straight white misogynist men. #NotYourShield was born to showcase the group's diversity and tell detractors that hiding behind empty claims of sexism, racism, etc. doesn't make them right. https://twitter.com/search for #GamerGate and #NotYourShield Game devs showed support to #GamerGate for challenging the media and standing up to their baseless "misogyny" smear campaign. They too have been bullied by these "Social Justice Warriors" (SJWs) - people who want to impose their own self-righteous morality on others and smear/blacklist anyone who resists http://techraptor.net/2014/09/12/interview-daniel-vavra http://bit.ly/1DØBfr1 Help us improve journalism, ensure judgi and keep political agendas out of our games and media support #GamerGate Want more current info? _"*I guess i had to do it if only because people are expecting me to do it. I didn’t even remember this was a thing till yesterday XD*"_ Had to add this because I thought that ppl would actually click the source link and look at the description after all this time
Jalen Hutchinson Studied Culinary Science at Culinary Institute of America (Graduated 2014). Author has 304 answers and 740.1K answer views. 5y Not that I care that much either way, but it did expose a lot of corrupt game developers and game journalists. X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address. I just want honesty from the community, and the lies were mostly exposed by the "dreaded" gamergate. 1.3K views • View upvotes 26
The people who censored Gamergate on Wikipedia were working for Russia and Saudi Arabia by hyatt » Thu Jul 06, 2023 7:46 pm As they say, follow the money. There are Russian oligarchs with a lot of money: Meet the Russian Billionaires that Took on BP and Won. Herman Gref: CEO of Sberbank, Russian trade minister, and board member of the World Economic Forum American Billionaires Vanish From Russian Fund's Website (right when Gamergate happened) International Advisory Board: Leonard Blavatnik School of Government Edelman names Stan Polovets (of Alfa Group) as New Regional Chairman In Russia This last one leads to... The Edelman Dig Edelman senior account supervisor for social strategy Adam Rosenberg was part of the New Organizing Institute, a large number of Democratic Party campaign staff working for the AFL-CIO. Edelman was at this time taking orders from Russia (see Polovets above) and from Omar Qirem of Edelman Saudi Arabia. So when PR orders came in to Edelman from Russia and Saudi Arabia, Rosenberg could distribute these orders to the other campaign staffers that he had been working with for a decade. These included: 50 * Ari Rabin-Havt of the Democratic National Committee * Taryn Rosenkranz of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee * The Arab American Institute which is the vehicle that brought Rashida Tlalb into Congress * Amanda Michel of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, and also The Guardian's Senior Editor for Strategy and Partnerships. As was observed, everything links back to The Guardian. * Blue State Digital which is sponsored by Anil Dash who is known for racketeering * Win Without War which signed a Letter of Solidarity Standing With NIAC which is a known front for the Iranian govenrment * Zach Exley of the Ruckus Society which advocates for violent "direct action" campaigns, and who was the Chief Community Officer for Wikipedia starting in 2010. * Eli Pariser, a co-founder of the Avaaz movement that is run by the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office as a front for Hamas. He is also a member of the Tech Advisory Board of the Anti-Defamation League with Reddit co-founder Steve Huffman, Facebook VP Guy Rosen, Crowdstrike president and former FBI Executive Assistant Director Shawn Henry, and Craig Newmark of Craigslist who is a member of the US-Palestinian Partnership. Some of the Wikipedia staff were working for George Soros's Open Society Institute. The significance of this is who Soros was working for. * Soros was partnered with Igor Ivanov of the Russian Federation, the Russian-controlled African National Congress party (ANC), Wadah Khanfar the head of Qatari state media Al-Jazeera, and multiple other foreign powers. * The chairman emeritus of the Soros organization was partnered with Qatar. * Soros's senior advisors include Prince Turki the former head of Saudi Intelligence hyatt Sucks Posts: 35 Joined: Mon Feb 19, 2018 12:04 am Been thanked: 20 times
