See The Winner Of September 2026's Meme Of The Month!
And the winner of September's Meme of the Month award, with 11.6 percent of the total votes, is …
The "Things to Say" meme!
This hustle culture meme format, inspired by the "Rare Fish" memes, pairs images of stereotypically cool celebrities with lists of things that you should say to a given person. The kicker is that you really shouldn't say any of the things in the often-lengthy lists, unless you really want to get the subject mad.
The meme was popularized on sites like Instagram and TikTok this past month and was seen by many as a welcome return to classic hustle culture memes, an ironic series of memes that are all about grinding for money and success.
In this case, the memes are about grinding for the love and affection of a given subject by dominating them in the realm of conversation.
A big congratulations to the Things to Say meme for winning September's Meme of the Month award!
Chile Memes
Coming in second, with 8.4 percent of the votes, is the Chile memes, a series of memes that play off the long shape of the country of Chile.
Chile, for those who don't know, is a South American country that runs along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. It's known for being long and narrow in shape, causing it to stand out among the other countries.
Chile has been inspiring memes for years, but in September it went viral as TikTokers began posting memes that imagine everything in Chile being narrow, just like the country.
These memes show things like long and skinny cars and apartments with captions that humorously claim they're from Chile. They've been compared to memes about places like Ohio, which humorously imagine the location in a bizarre light.

"Let's Groove" Edits
Coming in third place, with 7.4 percent of the total votes, is the "Let's Groove" edits, a series of animation memes based on the song "Let's Groove" by Earth, Wind & Fire.
Besides being based on the song "Let's Groove," the animation meme is also based on a scene from The Emperor's New Groove sequel, Kronk's New Groove. In the scene, Kronk and his love interest, Ms. Birdwell, dance while making bread.
This dance is at the center of the meme, in which users are reanimating it with new characters. The whole meme is about applying the dance to characters from other franchises, whether it's a show, movie or video game.

Elizabeth Holmes and Nathan Fielder's "Why Would I Deceive You?"
In fourth place, with 6.9 percent of the votes, is the Elizabeth Holmes and Nathan Fielder 'Why Would I Deceive You?' meme, a viral meme format based on a scene from the teaser for Fielder's upcoming documentary, You Can See Everything.
The documentary sees Fielder document Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, before her arrest for fraud. Back in 2018, Holmes was found guilty of fraud for lying about her company's blood analysis devices, which did not work as they were advertised.
In the trailer, Holmes insists that she's not deceiving Fielder. Arguably, at least to a lot of viewers, she's not too convincing. The look in her eyes and her stare elicited a lot of reactions online, inspiring a wave of memes and edits.
Both Fielder and Holmes' reactions became memes, with some of the most popular memes including jokes about a spouse obviously deceiving her partner, but insisting she's not.
The memes evolved quickly to include all types of deceit, whether between two people or between a person and a so-called transparent .PNG file that's totally transparent and not at all lying.
We're All Just Blocking the Street
Finally, with 6.8 percent of the votes, is the We're All Just Blocking the Street meme, a series of memes based on a Family Guy scene that's being used to vent frustrations about being stuck in crowds.
This meme is based on a cutaway gag from the season 15 episode "The Peter Principal." In the gag, Brian is trying to deliver a pizza. However, he can't cross the street because a New Orleans marching band is parading down the street.
As they play their instruments, they sing, "We're all just blocking the street, we're all just blocking the street," which, obviously, is where the meme gets its name.
In September, the scene went viral on TikTok and Instagram Reels as an audio meme. As a meme, the audio is used in comedy skits and edits that are all about the frustrations of being stuck in or blocked by crowds.
This includes everything from trying to leave a concert to living in a tourist town and enduring a constant stream of events and more.

And now for the memes that didn't quite make the top five.
In sixth place with 6 percent of the votes is the "Fruit Fly Brain Simulations," followed by the "Thoughts On Lanterns" meme, the "Wawario and Wawaluigi" memes, the "Andy Closing Laptop" meme and the song "GG EZ" in 10th.
Lower down in the list, we had the "Healing Eyes" meme, the "Gavin Dorman" memes, "IShowSpeed's GTA IV edit," "Jean Phil" and the "Robert Pattinson Rap Lyric" memes.
Thank you for voting, and see you next month!
