It's really all about approaching things in the appropriate manner.

It's actually rather staggering how some people will get full-blown serious and pick and choose their words carefully in regards to the idiots and "SJWs" of the internet. The very people with no logical rhyme or reason to their thought processes and will bitch simply for the sake of bitching. Especially in the places of the internet that well and truly cater to that way of thinking. That's not the kind of approach you should give, it's not the kind they deserve to have.

Put a stupid grin on your face and tell them what you think, be as laughably outrageous about it as you want. They get mad? Who the hell cares, I say. They'd get mad if you bent over backwards and let them ride your ass like Inmate Bubba. So long as you're not going overboard with overexaggerations, keeping things truthful to how you really think and feel, there isn't jack that's wrong with it.

Of course, if it was a very serious discussion with calm and collected people listening and joining in, that's when you'd want to get serious along with it. When those people have Earned. The. Right. to put you in that position.
